Custom spalted Silver Maple bowl art piece. This Silver Maple was planted in 1978 by myself. It started as a thrown away dead stick in a pot in the dumpster behind the Montgomery Wards nursery in Marysville California. It was cut down due to overgrowing its space in the front yard. It is heavily spalted.
Yes, it is food grade but not recommended to use for food. Beautiful and unique. It is thicker because the wood was soft and took some hardening to make it stable.
